ACADEMY
Funded by the Alexander Talbot Rice Academy Charity, these centres will include Florence St Petersburg, Madrid, Paris and London.
The children will be taught over five years during the summer holidays, after which they will have the opportunity to join my studio as apprentices when they leave school.
The emphasis of their education will be- a unique insight into the preparation and use of materials for drawing and painting
- methods of drawing and painting from nature
- the study of great works of art around the world (with particular emphasis on technique)
- philosophy
We are extending the principle that it is advantageous to nurture talent at the earliest age possible to achieve excellence. I also believe that this aim requires a balance in the development of mind, body and spirit. This is taken for granted in music and sport - I am appling it to fine art, after the Russian principle.
