MY STORY

MY STORY

Early life

My father was a gifted amateur boxer, with a fine baritone voice. My mother a professional soprano, half English half Greek. Everything that I am as an artist came from the love I received from my parents and the values they taught me.

Woman

The desire to communicate the love you feel for what you see, comes from empathy and the desire to share thoughts and feelings. As a boy, I nearly died of an unknown viral infection. I had a high fever for several weeks until my fever broke and had to learn how to walk again.

Woman

Aged seven, I was sent to a strict prep boarding school, where I excelled artistically. Aged thirteen, I entered Stowe School, on the top art scholarship. Stowe is one of the most prestigious schools in Britain.

I graduated Stowe with the Headmaster's prize for Success and Achievement and the David Sandhurst Prize for History. I then passed officer training for the Welsh Guards, before going to Durham University to read Politics Philosophy and History.

On graduating, I felt free to pursue a career in fine art in Florence. My father, aware of how difficult a career in the arts was advised me against this. Fortunately I ignored his advice and started my artistic career by sleeping in the Anglican Church.
